About Me

Esra Izgi was born in Antalya. During her study in the Department of Industrial Product Design in Istanbul Technical University; she focused on interior design, space organization and exhibition design. She studied Architecture at The Brugge Art Academy in Belgium for one year.

Her career started with Ilham Aliyev Summer Palace in Baku in 2007 and continued with yacht interior design at the Vicem Shipyard in Antalya till 2011. Vicem Vulcan 46M yacht, which she run with Dutch Art-Line Design Company, is awarded as “The Best Interior Design” in Monaco Boat Show.

After coming to Istanbul in 2011 and taking part in various residential and office interior design projects, she continued her works as founding partner of her own company Ella interiors between 2013-2018. Her villa interior design project in Bodrum Mandarin Oriental was published in the 2016 August issue of InStyle Home magazine.

She has followed and successfully completed the design, implementation and delivery processes of more than 40 medium scale projects including residential, office, yacht, exhibition, small hotel, café, store and media studio up to today.

Since 2018, she stopped making interior architectural applications and continued to produce freelance designs and projects. During this period, she continued to learn in-depth by participating in various trainings and workshops in the fields of plants, ecological design, ayurveda and aromatherapy, which she was interested in, with the awareness of her passion and the awareness that the best thing for her is closer to nature.

In April 2021, she created the Eso Atelier brand. With the advantage of having her roots in the Mediterranean, in the lands where the most precious medicinal and aromatic plants grow, she has designed the formulas and fragrances of her own natural cosmetics collection by reaching the cleanest and highest quality raw materials.

Combining aromatherapy with the eyes of a product designer, she aimed to create a collection with a story, which makes a difference from the existing, has a story, presents not only a mixture that moistures the skin, but also an experience. She prepared a Body Care/Massage Oil collection named 'Anatolian Gardens', which consists of 6 different fragrance types and takes its inspiration from the four seasons, the regions of Anatolia, Ayurveda and the elements.

With the sense of responsibility of being a local producer, she prioritized young farmers who make conscious production with quality in raw material procurement choices, and large producers who also offer equal opportunities to refugees in the organic agriculture workforce. Considering the zero-waste principle and reducing carbon emissions, she choses to import bottles made of recycled glass, procuring glass cosmetic packaging, the only product that it could not find locally, from Italy, unlike China.

Currently, Eso Atelier productions are used in world leading hotel spas; Esra Izgi continues to work in Istanbul to produce well-intentioned productions.
